J. Eric King
President
J. Eric King began building homes in the Capital District in the 1960s alongside his father, Tom King. His determination, hard work, and vision have grown that small, single-family home-building firm into the commercial and hospitality powerhouse of Equinox Companies specializing in real estate development.
Mr. King has a BS in Construction from Syracuse University and served several years as the President of the New York State Builder’s Association and the Albany Area Builder’s Association. He’s currently the President of the Colonie Seniors and is a founding member and trustee of the Saratoga Automobile Museum.
Griffin King
Partner
Griffin King serves Equinox as a partner and advisor.
Prior to serving in an active role with Equinox, Griffin spent 17 years in Global Heath Sciences and Finance. He has run commercial organizations in 3 countries and has conducted business in over 20 countries.
Griffin received a BA from Whittier College (Finance, Marketing) and an MBA (Finance, Marketing) from The Merage School of Business at The University of California, Irvine. He is based in Jackson, WY, with his wife and twin children.
Todd Fischer
Head of Construction and Development
Todd Fischer has been with Equinox Construction Corporation working side by side with J. Eric King for more than 40 years. He has overseen the development of more than 1 million square feet of commercial and residential space.
He is a graduate of the University of Vermont and was on the board of The Albany Area Builder’s Association. Todd served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, and today is an avid car enthusiast and a member of the Saratoga Automobile Museum and the Porsche Club of America.
Hayley V. Smith
Controller
Hayley Smith joined Equinox in August 2018 and brings more than 20 years of accounting experience to our team.
Hayley is a Capital District native and has a BS in Accounting from Bryant & Stratton College.
Paul Sheehan
Property Manager / Promotion
Paul Sheehan has four years of college experience with a degree with honors from Hudson Valley Community College. He joined Equinox in 2018 as Property Manager after almost 20 years of operating his own electrical construction company.
He started his business relationship with Equinox around that same time by contracting multiple jobs with them. Paul brings more than 20 years of experience managing in the construction field.
He was born and raised in the Capital District and still resides in his hometown of Stillwater with his wife and three daughters. When he’s not working, he is spending time with the family or watching a sporting event.
